World's Largest Corn Stalk
The World's Largest Corn Stalk is located near Shelby, Iowa. Take a gander, but don't eat any ears.
This 76' steel sculpture lies along Shelby's Interstate 80 exit. It symbolizes the importance of agriculture for the Shelby area. The sculpture highlights the major commodities produced by area farmers: corn, beef, and pork. Sculptor Cliff Carlson of Wesley, Iowa was commissioned to design the sculpture.
Shelby is also the Purple Martin Capital of Iowa.
