Oldest Boxing Gym in the World

Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, New York, is the oldest and best-known boxing gym in the world. Founded in 1937, it has produced champions such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran, Zab "Super" Judah, and Jake La Motta. You can still get in to do your thing for only $15 for a day pass.

Gleason's hosts White-Collar Fights, in which amateurs (including women and kids) get to mix it up in the ring in front of a paying audience. The events happen on Saturdays, usually once a month. Call for a schedule.

Gleason also hosts the Gleason Boxing Hall of Fame, which includes almost every famous boxer you can remember. A total of 121 world champions have made Gleason's their home away from home.
